Access to essential medical services is a human right and one that OpenDiagnostics South Africa believes should be right within communities that previously did not have access.

“Bringing these essential healthcare services into the township aligns with one of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s elevated priorities to ensure that advanced healthcare facilities are not just confined to urban centres but are extended into every township and rural area. By doing so, we are not only democratizing access to healthcare but are also actively working to decrease health disparities and promote health equity across the province.
This strategic move helps address the historical neglect of healthcare infrastructure in townships, providing equitable healthcare opportunities for all residents. Enhanced access to diagnostic services means early detection and treatment, which are crucial in improving health outcomes and ultimately reducing the burden on tertiary healthcare facilities. It also encourages a healthier population, which contributes to the socioeconomic development of the community.”
